Transmission Questions

Alright guys, starting saturday I noticed a shaking in my truck when the TC locks up or when the tranny is being bogged down a bit. It doesnt do this all the time just once in a while. I dont think the tranny is slipping or anything either but im not sure. What I mean is when I press on the gas slowly to accelerate without it shifting out of OD then around 60-70 mph I get this awful shaking. I had a soda in the cup holder and it was full and it shook so hard that the thing was bouncing all over. As soon as I let off the throttle the shaking stopped. Im thinking its my Transmission? Would this be a sign of it going bad? I think im going to unplug the EZ for a while. I have an appointment for a week from thursday to take it into the shop and they are gonna change the fluid, filter and tighten the bands or whatever adjustments they can do. What adjustments can they do on my tranny? What tranny do I have? Also what fluid should I have them put back in? One more question. I havent hooked up my tranny guage so should I have them put that one piece in the line that i buy from dodge so the sensoer goes in there while they are messing with the tranny? If so can someone give me the part # again and explain where it goes? Sorry for the long post and all the qustions but I wanna do it all at once and fix the problem! Thanks

Tranny line part no. 05011244AA replaces the front tranny line.

They can adjust both the front and rear bands, and the line pressure pretty easily, but it sounds like it might be the TC. Use the recommended fluid, I think ATF+4, but you need to check.

Once in a while I'll get this shaking when pulling a load up a 6% or more grade at 65-70 mph. My tranny hasn't been giving me any problems though. I thought it might be in the front end I know that I will be replacing my trac bar soon, we'll see if that helps.

My truck has a good vibration between 60 and 65 mph. The dealer told me 2 weeks ago that my rear-most u-joint was going out. I haven't had time to replace it yet. When I do later on this week, I hope that vibration goes away. Just something to think about.

I believe what you are experiencing is called shudder. It is when the clutch in the torque converter can’t hold the load. Here is some interesting reading from DTT on this.

Hope it helps.
