Transmission

Hello
Need some advice...
I have a 99 24 valve with 150,00km on it.
Before I start pulling my camper this summer, should I get the transmission cleaned out and put some synthetic oil in it?

Dont "have it cleaned out". Flushing the tranny can introduce debris throughout the unit and cause problems. Just drop the oil pan, replace the filter, and re-fill with fluid. I understand that AFT-4 is required in that tranny and is also a group III fluid which means its synthetic. I cant remember how much a simple drain and filter change takes but I'd think around 6 or so. You'd have to check on that.

+1 on previous post,

Long ago I worked in a tire shop, when we did a trans service, oil filter, purge converter, we often ended up buying the customer a transmission.

The new fluid with all the detergents would overly clean out the trans, and cause problems shortly after.

If the oil isn't clean on the dip stick, drop the pan, clean the pan, if it has a filter, replace the filter, if it has a screen, you can wash it out in solvent and re fill the trans.
