Transfer case leak
My truck is leaking from the t-case and I have determined it is from the seal where the two halves come together. What all is involved in fixing it?
Thanks

It's a pretty straight forward and simple job to split the cases and re-seal them.
Pull the transfer case out, out put housing off, a snap ring and more or less split the cases.
Only real concern is making sure the oil pump pickup stays in place when you put the cases back together. And for what they are worth (a few bucks) replace the snap ring on the rear output shaft inside the rear housing.
If the snap ring breaks when your driving, the transfer case will work its way into 4wd and if you don't catch it, possible boom scenario.
Couple of hours work and your good to go.
