Transfer Case Fluid Change / What's This?
Changed the transfer case fluid and had to weld 3/8" hex extensions (could've used 19mm) into the drain/fill caps to get the darn things out. Here's a pic:
Also, removed the drain plug and saw this plastic piece. Seems to belong there, just don't know what it is. It moves up and down and is fairly lightweight and I don't know if it is attached to anything upstream:

19 mm hex socket has been around for years. Had one in tool box for near 20 years.
Oil pickup tube in TC. Is it attached to something and has limited movement or obviouslly loose. Loose is bad/

My drain plug was a little damaged too but I got it out with a hex drive. Got a new one at the hardware store for .60 cents. I ran gasline tape on it so it doesn't leak anymore.
