my father has a '01 3500 4x4 drw 6sp, when slowing down or just letting off the pedal it jumps out of 6th back to neutral. possible synchro's? time for rebuild? (only have 193,000 mi) thanks

Quite possible. My first transmission was replaced under warranty at 22,000 miles because it was popping out of first. Second one broke a main shaft at 70 mph on the highway while pulling a 11,000 pound trailer. I had to pay for that one.

I'm going to guess it's time for a rebuild. Or time to not use 6th.

its what they call a blocker ring assy, hooks two shfts togather....all things wear out,,,dose not mean the whole thing is junk
