Tranny Concern!
ok i just noticed a little bit ago while i was driving the tranny was acting up. while driving around 55 to 65 mph in over drive just crusing the tranny will start to down shift then will stop in mid shift and keep doin it over and over again but it wont fully down shift almost a half shift. i am just concerned and wondering if anyony has any answers cause this has never happened to me before. tranny is stock and never had any work done to it that i know of. any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like the converter is locking and unlocking. Try wrapping the black and orange wire going from the alternator to the passenger battery in aluminum foil and see if that helps. If that doesn't then try resetting the APPS.

there are some quick disconects that connect on the negative side of the passenger battery. Cut those out and sauter them back together. That fixed the problem with my 99.

If it's the TC locking and unlocking it is caused by electrical noise spikes. There are many causes and many fixes. First clean the battery terminals then do a search on locking and unlocking.

No clue. Mine popped up suddenly after 100k miles of use and abuse. My tranny guy said to wrap that wire in foil (this was before I got the DTT) as a way to make a cheap noise blocker and the son of a gun worked. Darndest thing I've ever seen.

i will have to try that then and see if it fixes it but i was driving around today and it only did it once. but i dont know if this could be a factor but i have an aftermarket stereo sub and what not and my power wires is goin through the big rubber groumet under driver side dash to the driver side batt. also i talked to a tranny guy that i know today and he said you splice in a ground wire to two wires from the PCM. dont recall the exact pin numbers. ever heard of this fix? thanks josh

i disconnected both batteries cleaned them and took the connector off the PCM (i beleive) on the block and soldered in a ground to pin number 49 and 30 which are black with a tan tracer. works great now no surges or problems now! a friend from a local dodge dealership told me about it so i cant take the credit.
