my truck has a bad whine in the power steering and when its real cold out, i cant drive it for like 10 minutes otherwise it shoots the power steering fluid out. i bought some valvoline synthetic blend today and i will see if that helps. besides sucking what you can out of the reservor, is there any other tips to getting all of it out, or will emptying the reservor be enough?

it sounds like you have the same problem I had, water in the pump. What I did was, took off the return line off then started the truck and turned the wheels all the way to the rightand let the pump MT out. then I filled the Res. and did it again. after that I cut enough off of the return hose so that it wasn't higher than the resivior, and filled it up, I haven't had a problem since.
