Ok I am new to the diesel world so please don’t beat me up to bad….
My question is how can I tell if my TC is “locking in”? Is there a simple test? I don’t have any tools too diagnose this so is it a sound or a feel or some thing like that?
Thank you in advance for your help…..

3.55s at around 55 mph you should be running around 1600 rpm and if it isnt locked you will be closer to 2000 rpm.
The lock up usually feels like another gear to alot of ppl.
Have fun and happy motoring.
P.S If you buy anything for your truck a fuel pressure guage would be the first and most important thing that may save you some cash in the long run.

If im taking it easy in my 94 dodge, it will lock up at around 43mph with my 3:55 gears. If you watch the tach, and listen to the motor, you will hear/see it drop 300-400 rpm or so, and that is when the tc locks up. Good luck.
