Tools needed for VP44 change?
I should be getting my new injection pump this week end, and I was wondering what tools I will need to change it. It would be great if one of you could just give me a list if it is more than one item so I can just order / buy them all at once, because right now I own zero tools.
Just pretend I know nothing about tools, or trucks. (Because I don't)

Check this thread.
It should answer all of your "How To" questions.

See this thread:

If you don't know anything about tools or trucks, you might want to let a mechanic handle this one
EDIT: shovelhead beat me to it!

I just changed mine out a few days ago. It is fairly simple just take your time and label all the high pressure lines so you don't have to take the time to figure out where they go when u put them back on. ALso, you don't need to take off injector line number 6 from the injector, just the pump. And, turn the engine over by a crankshaft bolt, the alternator nut didn't work for me,it just slipped on the belt. go buy a steering wheel puller from northern tool or somewhere else. I bought mine from northern tool for 4 bucks. And a 27 mm socket for the ip axle nut, this cost me 2.88 from northern tool. Everything else is pretty much standard metric stuff. If you have any questions let me know.

Wow
Thanks for the info guys that thread will come in handy.
After reading it all I may just let the dealer do it though... lol
I wonder how they will feel about me bringing a pump in I bought for $600.00 cheaper than what they wanted for one just to have them put it in.
I didn't see that thread in tech facts, I might have missed it, but maybe it should be added?
