Throttle position wire/linkage.. loose??

Whats up all!

So I was puttin on a new powder coated TPS cover/bracket yeserday and noticed that the wire/lines/linkage that feed into the tps box are very loose.

I remembered reading I think about 'Project rust bucket' they the replaced the throttle lines cause over time they had streched and werent makin full power avalible.
Im wonderin if this could be the case with my truck although I'm at 83 k miles.
It still has plenty of get up and go, but everyone I know thinks I should be runnen better 1/4 miles and I really kinda loose the GO in the high end on the track.

What it comes down too is.. are those 2 wires supposed to be so loose??
TIA Ian.
