throttle cable problem ??
ok im trying to figure out how to describe what my rig is doing.......i replaced a broken throttle cable about a week ago. now when i am in 1st or 2nd gear with light to med throttle it wants to buck and carry on especially coming up my gravel driveway or any other rough surface. its not my foot control because i never had this problem with the old cable. so whats up guys. help me out please its driving me crazy......... thanks,scott

I think there's a TSB out for this.
If you have the problem described in the TSB, it is the throttle cable linkage (or some part associated with the throttle) that is bouncing around.
As the cable bounces on a rough surface, the slack in the cable increase/decrease causing the rpm's to fluctuate.
There is a spring kit available that reduces/eliminates this.
Check with you local dealer.
Perhaps someone else on this board will have the exact TSB number.

thanks dieseldaze, when i boought the new throttle cable it came with a new piece ..... the ball part that cable snaps onto.. looked exactly like the old 1 so i didnt replace it.. asfar as linkage goes i go in 2morrow for the recall so if that doesnt fix it ill have to try the part that came with the cable....or is there still a TSB out there 4 this prob ?? thanks guys, scott

Check the throttle return springs, there are two. If one is stretched out, broken, or missing you will get bucking. Dodge has changed the replacement springs so that one of the two is much stiffer than the original.

what is a TSB for ??? i mean is everything on that list to be fixed y the dealer free of charge?? please explain i go in for the throttle linkage recall 2morrw and would like to have more to throw at them thanks, scott
