What degree thermostat comes in a 2002 from the factory. I need to replace mine because the temp guage is sitting very low and the heater is not as hot as it used to be.

My 2002 was a 192*F from factory...Still got it on the self...Why??? I don't know...
I got a new one from NAPA for about $23.59 and that includes the seal...The one listed with NAPA is a 190*F thermostat...

My 01 came with a 190 from the factory (stamped right on the thermostat), I hated it!
It gets too hot here in So. Cal. and the truck was always running hot. I replaced it with a 180 from Cummins and I love it, truck runs super cool now.

My 02 came with a 190* also. For upper michigan, I would stay with the 190*.... and ONLY a Cummins T-stat. Have heard too many horror stories with other brand names! JMO.
In this part of the country... I love the 180* T-stat. Solved all coolant overheating during 6 months of 100*+ days. I do reinstall my 190*for our 3-4 months of cooler temps (actually had the high idle kick in once... in the last 3 yrs )
