Is there a frost plug in the back of the block?

Hey guys I posted this up in the Help section last night but no answers so i'll try here. It looks like I lost a frost plug in the back of the block between the bellhousing and the head. My questions are
A: Anybody manage to get a new one in there without pulling the trans?
B: Ideas on why it would just fall out?
And lastly for those of you that have had a plug blow out did it leak a little first or just pop out? For the life of me I just cant understand this one, this truck has only 60k on it and I have changed the A/F ever fall regularly so normal F/P failures due to rusting out and so on shouldnt apply. I have never had one just blow out? Any info or insight would be greatly appreciated.
