Testing for Boost leaks

I was researching for our other car, and it seems that even stock they have boost leaks, and building a tester for it. Do our trucks have any problems with boost leaks? anyone built a tester for this as well. I'm going to build one for the other car, and thinking of making it adaptable to use on the truck as well. Any ideas?

Building a Boost leak tester from PVC pipe is fairly easy. Cap the tube before the air horn and pressurize the tube coming off the turbo. Leaks normally show up in the factory rubber boots... but can appear in the intercooler also.
But comparing your boost #'s with others will tell you where you stand and if you need to go hunting!

What's your boost gauge read?

My boost gauge reads pressure why??

With the turnbuckled wastegate using a spring, I can get 30-31. I dont think I have a leak, but not sure how common they are on our trucks. However I have heard people running more boost than what I have. I dont wanna have a minor leak and be spinning the turbo faster than I have to.
