I just picked up some Amsoil and a baldwin filter for my tranny. Hopefully I get a chance to change it out soon... ;D

Tony

Re:Synthetic Trans. Fluid
Not trying to start an Oil war, I use synthethics, in my 6-sp trans, transfer case, front & rear differentials. I personally use Redline Products. I believe, any good ( brand name) synthethics meeting or in most cases exceeding the manufactures specs is good. I don't run synthethics in my engine, because I change my oil and filter every 3500 miles. I feel the synthethics in the other componets, with-stand higher heat and contain better friction modifiers then petroleum base stocks as those componets are usually neglicated and are under extreme stress.

I run Amsoil front to rear. Just put my new ATS tranny in the truck and all it has seen, will ever see, is Amsoil tranny juice. ;D
(nothing wrong with the old tranny, just getting ready to add HP ;D)
You have to make your own decision on brand. I'm not starting a war here either. :

Chris

Thanks for the input guys just wanted to maybe get a better idea on what you thought was the best product. I have about 4,000 miles to make my decision. [undecided]

Re:Synthetic Trans. Fluid
I used Redline MTL and a bottle of Pro-Long in my NV5600. After about 1,000 miles I changed it to check how it was doing and there was enough brass in the oil to make a necklace. My guess is that it's not cause of the oil since a lot of people use MTL but it hasn't had any more problems since I switched back to the factory fluid.

I used synthetic oil in the tranny and had nothign but trouble and changed it back to reg oil. Even with slypage added it still made a grinding noise on turns. Hope this helps
