Swapping Vp44, tools needed?
Hey guys, I am just wondering what size flare wrenches METRIC OR SAE I need? I am also nervous being my virgin swap.Any tips so I don't screw up? Thanks If this goes well I will be a happy camper.

The pump is very staright forward to change, the only special tools would be the gear puller. Other than that a stubby 19mm will really help with removing the injection lines from the pump (take them off in sets of 3 so they thay bolted together). You will also need a torx bit (don't remember which size to remove the mounting braket from the old pump and install on the new one). If you have a service manual it give a great description for the R&R, if you dont have one it can be purchased at Techauthority

unscrew the plastic breather cap. remove nut and lock washer bluechipdiesel.com has a gear puller for 50 bucks. i placed the key one top for removal and install with no problems at all. five bolts that hold the pump too the block. the injector lines in two groups three i changed my vp44 myself it was not to bad.
