Swap a P7100 for the Vp44--dumb question
#2
The P7100 is the inline mechanical forerunner to our electronic rotary VP44. Many people love the mechanical features and the easy ability to turn up the pump to gain much more power, while we need to add electronic boxes or bigger injectors to do the same thing. Searching for either of the two will get you hours of reading.

the P-7100 or P-pump is the one on our factory 12valves they are more reliable then the vp-44 and can make more power (not saying it'll take less money....
over 1000 hp has been done on a p-pump, but thats not a normal "pump"
you can get a p-pump close or to 400 hp with a little money, if any at all.
If you dont want an all out power truck, and your vp-44 is good, they are great trucks to drive, specially with a box in it! a vp44 can make 650 rwhp on #2 it depends on waht you wanna do...

Yes,bu you will be left with a check engine light,as the PCM,and ECM will be looking for a VP44 and its signals that arent there. Id stick with a VP44,the P7100 swap isnt worth it unless your going for all out power.

you'll have to swap lines, they are a totally different configuration. What ever you do, do not bend the tubing. They are pre bent and equal measured from pump to injector.

not the same fittings but if you are a good fabricator/mechanic then they can be rebent...or there are some companies that sell the premade p-pump swap injector lines. the few guys who have rebent them spent hours straightening the lines and starting from scratch again.
also it involves a cam swap, some custom injectors, alot more time to tune it and get it dialed in etc.
anyway like was stated, unless you are building an all out drag truck or sled puller, then stick with a VP44, get a good fuel supply system(pressure and volume) to keep the VP44 healthy, add some injectors, electronics, nice single or twin turbo set-up to supply air and 600+ hp is not out of the question.
