surging...apps??
hey all, I have a 2001 ram 4X4. I have had a surging problem for a while...it is a one throttle posistion...not lower and not higher. Does it all the time. I can reset the computer...via, unplugging batteries and turning lights on or key on..this will drain the computer and all electronics. After this will do fine for a while...normally a hundred miles or so. Then it starts to reappear again. It normally between 1500 and 2000 rpm. Thats a very broad guestiment. I have a programmer on it now and its worse...Its still at the same place and still will go away for a while if you reset the computer. Really in the sweet spot on the highway you can feel it...I'm thinking apps/tps..how can I test this?? I'm pretty handy with electronics and such...does this sound like what it would be?? Everything i read says that people "lose" pedal..i don't lose pedal...I just have a surge...or maybe a buck...like I said resetting the computer fixes it for a while...batteries are also getting weak but when they were hotter it still did it. Any suggestions? Thanks!!

Have you access to an osocilloscope? Or one of the better Fluke meters can't remember there numbers. Check to see what the voltages look like! I bet that they have a load or bad wave in them. Someone was selling a supressor for this problem in one of the tdr's some time ago.
Mine has a bad voltage coming from somewhere? Not the batteries, alt, ECM, or vp44. Couldn't afford to change anything else !!!
