SURGE
MY TRUCK WILL (SURGE) AT 30 MPH +, IT WILL COME AND GO. IT HAS DONE THIS ABOUT 4 TIMES IN THE LAST YEAR. IT WILL CONTINUE TO DO IT FOR A WEEK TO 3 WEEKS. IT WILL INCREASE ABOUT 100 RPM FOR ABOUT 5-30 SECONDS AND DROP BACK DOWN. IT DOES THIS WITH THE OVERDRIVE OFF OR ON. IT FEELS LIKE IT IS SLOWING DOWN WHEN IT SURGES, THE SPEEDO DOESN'T CHANGE. IT ALSO ONLY DOES IT AT A STEADY SPEED NOT WHILE ACCELERATING. ANY THOUGHTS? 98 24V AUTO

Re:SURGE
I'll be interested whaat is causing this.
I've had the same thing happen 2 or three times. Mine was after a hard run on the interstate. Last time I was just going into a campground and it was scary. Didn't know if it was going to quit or not.

Re:SURGE
It sounds like your torque converter is locking and unlocking...This will cause that 100-200 rpm "surge" feeling you are describing, and because your torque conv. is unlocking it will feel as is you are loosing power momentarilly also..My truck occasionally does this too, it is a problem that alot of automatic owners have. If it continues, their are a few things you can try: 1) have the dealer re-flash your computer 2) make sure all eletrical connections are clean ( problem is from eletrical intereference ) ....3) contact DTT Transmission, they sell a noise filter that can sometimes help.....Hope this helps
