stumble

I own a 2000 3500 dually with 70,000 on it and it has an intermitant stumble at any speed or at idle. It doesn't happen all the time,so it's hard to pin point if its fuel or computer related.Did the filter changes etc. but still does it.My friend that works at dodge says it needs a comp. upgrade while his buddy who works with him who is a master cummins tech seems to think its the transfer pump. Now im new to the site and have already read alot about the pumps failing, anyone have a similar problem?

Re:stumble

Yes when it was new my Y2K did that exact same thing. There is a reflash that will fix it. Had that done and never had another problem. Let me find the # for you. <br> chuck.

Re:stumble

TSB # 18-24-99 this reprograms the ECM. Fixed mine right up. OK now are you running the comp or what was the question I don't understand?

Re:stumble

A lot of things ccan cause Eng stumple. But with mine it would be just like you turned the eng off and back on super fast. It would do it at idle or running down the road just out of the blue, but not too often. I read a TSB on it and it descriped my systoms perfectly so had it done have never had a problem since, this might not be your problem but the stumple I refer to is mostly on the 2000 models. Hope this helps.
