Stalling at stops when driven a while
Could this be that the trans is staying in lockup?
Also just did a scan and got a 216 code (Injector/Injection Timing Control Circuit). And of course the1693 code.
And have ABS and brake light on (spun the wheels).
Any thoughts?
This is the same truck I replaced the Crank position sensor on and then had to replace the tone ring screw on. With the screw out, the ring expanded as rpm increased and eat a grove in the end of the sensor.
Last job I did on it was rear wheel seals and brake shoes.

I wouldn't be too concerned about the p0216 just yet.... I can't think of ever having a "stalls when coming up to a stop" that was associated with the VP, especially if it restarts right away. I see the 216 code on alot of 24 valve trucks, but the key cycle counter is maxed at 255 and there have been no drivability probs. What I would do is to clear the code and road test and see if the p0216 sets. If it does, yes, it may be VP time. If the torque convertor is staying locked it will act almost like pulling up to a stop and not pushing the clutch pedal in on a stick equipped truck. I remember the v-10 trucks having this issue back in 01 and there was a flash for them. Don't remember it being an issue on the ctd though....

Thanks, I did not run out and buy one yet! Its 50 miles to the parts house anyway. I get out there on Saterdays most of the time. I did ask 'em but it tho. Whey would have to order it.
Good thing I don't have to have the truck all the time. Got a spair ride.
Any other thoughts?

I just replaced the IP on mine last week and it was doing the same thing. Stalling when I stoped and white smoking really bad. After I replaced the IP all the problems stopped.

Mine don't seem to put out white smoke. I may get time to run a scan on it today to see if the code is back. Got lots of other snakes to kill thease days.
Is anybody having good luck with this generation truck?
