sob... vp44 for sure??

Hey everyone,
for the past while, maybe 4 months or so, i've been gettin intermittent dead pedal and the 0216 code. It hit usually when at constant speeds, like interstate and long streatches of roads. The past month or so its been in basically limp type mode (NO *****...AT ALL!!! ) once started (colder starts, hardly ever warm starts) untill the temp gets w/in the "good range (140-200 or whatever it is on the temp gauge). I was getting the 0216 like said but reset it by dissconecting the batteries for a day or so and havn't gotton the code but still does the dead pedal. 1100 bucks is a tough bullet to bite....is it for sure? or pretty sure anyway haha! oh i did reset the APPS w/the procedure on here but to no avail - havn't reset the voltage to the apps unit yet....hmm anyway thanks in advance....sorry for the length!!

You got it. Change it out and you'll be good to go.

I had similar symptoms. It was my throttle position sensor. Changed it out ( 10 minutes) werks fine now , no more dead pedal/ code.

tnutcher, you can rule out ure apps by finding a local garage that will let you hook there snap on scanner to the truck and go for a test drive with them.. basicly act like ure interested in them fixin it and then when you see the voltage under "TPS = XXX" watch it.. if it drops to 0 when the dead pedal happens then its ure apps.... if the voltage stays consistant then its ure injection pump.
