removing IAT sensor
HELP. Trying to remove the sensor without breaking my elbow. The clip is on the down and back side . Can't see it ,can barely get my fingers around it and can't seem to loosen the clip holding it on. Any suggestions?

I had mine out just this morning. I used one hand...one finger to hold clip up, and the others to pull it out. It's even harder to get it back in! For me, it's hard to hit a hole you can't see. And don't drop it.

I can't even see the bloody clip except with a mirror . Does it pry up near the engine end or the wire end? Looks like there are two little red things on the side, is that it?

If you lay on the motor and look just behind the very end of the intake manifold, you can see the IAT senser and plug. It is a one handed affair. One finger lifts the locking tab while the remaining fingers pull the plug off. If you have never had the senser unplugged before, it will be a little harder to get off. Once you have had it unplugged, it will come off way easier the next time.
I clean my IAT every oil change, takes just a couple of minutes, start to finish.

I don't know what all they took off to take those pics, but I sure can't see mine that well.
It took me about an hour and a half.....half hour to change it and an hour to find it after I dropped it into never-never land.

The pictures I think show the clip in front but the clip on mine is down and on the backside so when I reach down I have to pull the clip toward the transmission. I can't budge it with my finger and I don't want to break anything so my question is can I pry the tab with a screwdriver If so do I pry at the wire end or at the engine block end? I can't tell by looking which end to pry for sure.

hopak,
Its really not that big of a deal. Lay on the valvecover, reach your fingers around the connector, and pry the clip up (from the connector end, not the end with the wire) and pull. Keep working at it and youll get it. If you pry with a screwdriver, you could break the clip.

I had the same problem with my MAP sensor. I broke the little pink locking clip by removing it the wrong way. I tried EVERYTHING short of a screwdriver to get the locking clip to slide up so I could get the plug off. NO dice.
Screwdriver got the locking clip up and released it. I broke it. That locking clip seems completely unnecessary to me, as I've never had the plug come loose at all.
Maybe it's just a way to test the DC techs?
