Remove Muffler and Resonator?

Is there any advantage to taking these off and running a straight pipe? Everyone I talk to says to hack them off to make it breathe better. I don't want it to be too loud but if it improves performance and mileage then I'm all for it. Any suggestions?

not that much, by straight piping you get the illusion that you have more power because of the different sound.....been there .
if you do it, go to 4" but put in a good straight thru muffler .......i have two to eliminate the drone at cruising speed

I found that I got 100 km to a tank better and low end power was better pyro dropped 200 degrees. That is with a BAHF as well and I still have a resonator, It is louder but no drone. Yhe oped BAHF filter helps quiet the straight because you get more turbo whistle but if you lug it you get the big rig growl.

Aero has a excellent resonated muffler. Can eliminate 2 for 1. Sounds great but not quite as loud as straight piped.
