Redundant tranny question ... sorry!

You might need the reflash done for electrical noise - there is a TSB for this on early 24V trucks. Also, unless money grows on your trees and you have a big ego, you don't NEED optima batteries.

I don't think they're that expensive! The Interstates, which I usually use, are not much cheaper. A decent battery is going to cost you. Better than paying for new batteries every 2-3 years ... that's throwing good money after bad!

Just an update!
I had an electrician friend of mine test my batteries yesterday. He has this expensive, fancy gadget that tests the battery without placing a load on it ... took only a few seconds too. My batteries are rated at 665 CCA. One battery came back good with 780 CCA and the other, also good, with 910 CCA. So batteries aren't a problem! And yes I did disconnect the parallel cable before testing them.

been fighting with mne for a year, even to the point of replacing a couple of torque converters and the trani. Thought i had good batteries but they were not. did all thre other fixes including alternator. Could be alternator, but i replaced both batteries with top or the line gel batteries on the advice of mark Carson city. Replace both batteries not just one, mine were one and three years old caused bad signals in system. also pull plug on alternator and drive. If it is ok that way it is the alt or batteries. Get it fixed before you need a converter, good luck.

I've noticed the torque converter shifting in and out seems to occur a lot more if I have a slight load in the bed of the pickup, like around 600 lbs. When the truck is empty, it almost never does this torque lock-up in and out thing.

Did your truck do the jerk when the cruise was set? I have the 6 speed and it has done what you all are talking about. Jerk a few times then it goes on down the road. Only happens when cruise is set and towing. Might have the same problem or I could be off base. I haven't figured out what causes mine either. Doesen't do it all the time, maybey once every 5k miles.

I have been having lock up problems for months. I did all the things with connections and cables to no avail. Then, after recomendations from this forum, I installed the DTT noise filter, ($37). Problem is solved. Lockup is rock solid now. Obviously a dirty electrical signal problem. Dodge should have fixed this by now, don't you think?
