rear spindle
Two years ago i had burnt up a bearing on the drivers side rear. It tore the seal and the spindle all to heck. The spindle was messed up and wouldnt allow a new seal to slide over freely. I had an "axle surgeon" come out and he welded and grinded on the spindle until it was to spec. Well it always leaked just a little fluid onto the rotors after he did it, but it was minimal. So I let it go. Now I was sitting at a stop light and this sucker is throwing smoke(not black). It is leaking pretty bad now. My question is can I put a speedy sleeve on this? Or do I need to have the "surgeon" back out? If i can put a speedy sleeve does anyone know what size it is? Or any ideas on a fix.
Thanks

You might find a pin hole in weld allowing oil leak. clean out and seal with epoxy, if nothing else is wrong. Or perhaps there is a imprefection in seal area allowing oil past seal or wearing out seal. Guess the surgeon would be best on that one.
