rear-end options

Im looking to upgrade my rear-end in my 02 2500 4x4. its got the dana 70 with the stock 3.55 gearig in it. But I can not stand that when Im driving in my pastures to go feed the cows or going down my hunting club road i only have one rear wheel pulling. What are my options?

Put in a limited slip type carrier. Depending on where you drive will help determine the best choice, many good choices out there from Lockers to plate type.

I can find the rebuild kits but i can not find any sensible carriers. Any suggestions where I can find a deal on one?

I think Randy's Ring & Pinion is nationwide but it would probably be expensive to ship.

The local driveline shops specializing in rear ends should be able to help you out, the dana 70 isn't very rare.

Why not just go with a stock type LS? f you have the money and they makeone for the D-70 I'd go with the ARB Air locker.

I just went through my whole rear end, top to bottom. I called Randy's and picked up an Eaton Tru lock for $600-700. Not real sure on price, needed it in a hurry and bought it. I got free shipping but then again I spent some $1400 with them, was kinda hoping they'd throw in free shipping.

So far so good for me. Been driving 200 miles a day just about the last two weeks. Rear diff has been in since the day after Christmas. The jobsite I'm working is a sloppy mudhole, literally. Mud so thick it filled between the duals and started to ooze out the wholes on my wheels, looked like one of the kids playdough toys! Did it all in two wheel drive. Besides, no more clutches to worry about, no more limited slip lube to add. Just pour in some Amsoil and roll on.

It came with itself, no bearings, nothing. I bought a ring and pinion though so I was expecting a bearing kit anyhow. I bought the master kit to do everything in the center housing. You could probably just pick up the carrier bearings with the Eaton but would recommend new bolts for the ring gear swap.
