Read Codes and oil pressure

Alrighty. Is there a special lil way to read codes on the 99 rams? Like on my 97 i could do on off on off on and it would flash them. But yet the 99 wont. Just wondering if there was a way to get them to pop up somewhere. And it seemed to go away after 3 start ups.

Now for the oil pressure, I dont drive this hog that often ( lil thing with the parents) neway. Basically when the light game on I noticed my oil pressure was below 40, thought it usually sat (idle) ablove just a tad. But runnin down the road it was normal. Then after i shut her off and started her she looked good, but then i went through mc Ds and it started bouncing all over the place. My first thought when it started to go on the way to work was Oil filter. Since it was changed last week. But now im wondering if the sending unit could have gone bad.

So the question is. Will the bad sending unit throw a code?

No codes when the sending unit isn't working properly. The sending unit is merely a switch, It either has pressure or it doesn't. My gauge quit working on my truck while driving home from the airport, freaked me out, stopped by a nearby dealer, they checked to make sure it has pressure, said the switch was bad, and offered to replace it for $350($187 for the sender). Neway I said no thanks, and just left it like that while I saved my money for a new one, and then the sender started working again when the weather turned warmer. I think the switch is temp sensitive.

k, i know the pressure switches and everything run through the ECM on the big rigs, So once in a while you could get a Oil Pressure short Circit or Open Circit. ALl those codes are the 100's (100 101 102) givin on the manufactuer. Just hopin my lil dodge had the same thing. Now im **** poor confused on what to do haha. Dodge scan this stuff for fee? Im doubting it

You can go to autozone for a free code scan. Dealer will want to reflash the ecm if you take it in. The reflash is not covered by the 100000 mile warranty. I know, they stuck me for $80 on the reflash, then said it was the sender. You can get a new sender form cummins for less than $80.
