Question about fuel econ

So I keep reading through the posts here, some guys say that 15 mpg is normal but then I read further and it says that some trucks get 20 mpg plus. I have a 02 24v stock and I get about 14 to 15 unloaded, mostly city driving. Obviously it would be better on the highway but most of my driving is from here to work (about 15 miles). So is there any way I can gain a little fuel mileage or do I have to just deal with it since I drive mostly stop and go?

I think 15mpg is about normal for your driving conditions. The short distance you drive has the engine running inefficent while it warms up, and the stop and go further eats the fuel. Besides modifying driving habits, perhaps adding a timing box like the Smarty or Edge would improve the mileage. Many people report no mileage improvement because the added power encourages them to drive the truck like a hotrod.
