question about the APPS please read:

Does anyone know if there is a difference in the APPS for a stick shift and automatic, trucks,? I know the bracket is different but I am wondering about the potentiometer part of the APPS because I have shifting issues after I put a stick shift APPS on my Automatic 01

I have had a used apps from an auto on my truck for several years. Don't think it shouldn't make a difference.

what I am trying to figure out is: a mechanic friend of mine said he found out on line that the stick shift APPS has one less wire hooked up inside as opposed to the auto one, if this is true, which i am hoping someone on here will know maybe the reason my truck doesn't wanna shift outta first alot

I have replaced all the sensors in and on the tranny to no avail.

I don't believe there is any difference. We installed an APPS for a manual truck on a buddy's auto truck and he didn't have any issues. We did have to cut the bracket to make room for the extra cable, but once it was all hooked up, it worked perfectly.

Are you saying there was an extra wire in the plug hooked up? Or just an extra cable on the body of the APPS?

Did you cut your APPS bracket to make the hole for the extra cable that the autos use?

I know there is an extra cable for the trans that is hooked up as i kept the old auto bracket and changed out the potent. from the stick shift one, i was told that the plug has an extra pin hooked up for an auto versus the stick I have yet to get the new one in the mail yet. i will check out the site thanks

The only difference is the bracket the sensor is mounted on. The sensor is NO DIFFERENT.
