I would vent out the valve cover before I ran lawn irrigation pipe over the top of my engine. While i commend you on going the low buck route to make a usable item (and many of here thank you), I could not ever make that pvc pretty enough to be under my hood. I'm just weird that way I guess.

There have been a few members over on the TDR who moved the breather up to the center, top, rearward of the valve cover, using a standard automotive breather with a down hose attached. The round hole was cut in the valve cover to hold the rubber anchoring grommet, and the front breather was capped off. This is a very simular setup to larger Cummins engines.
