Power lose on 1999 Cummins

When running at High RPM's on the highway I will loose power. I will let off the pedal and when the RPM's go below 1k it will be ok for a while then will repeat.

I have changed VP and Transfer pump once before.

check fuel pressure if you do not have a gauge. might have bad lift pump. have it scanned for codes. auto zone you can do it yourself for free they let you use them.

I'm sure you already checked the fuel filter so I won't say anything about it

I change the fuel filter and I thought that work until yesturday it did it again. I am going to have the fuel pressure check again.

My check engine light is not on but can I still get error codes checked if it is not on?

Yes you can still check for codes. My engine light never came on when i lost my vp. I just scanned it for the heck of it and found then code there.

I changed the Transfer pump and it is still loosing power. I have an edge comp could that cause the problem? I also had the check engine light come on. What is code 237 and 216? After I turned the truck off for a while the light went off buy itself.

the 237 could have caused the 0216 so replace map first then see if 216 reappears.

Also if the comp is like the blue chip and has to be grounded to one of the wires leading to the IP if you have a bad connection there it will loose power for a bit then reset itself, also possible boost fooler problem?
