What is the design of the LSD/ Posi.
2 fixed cross pins in a full bolt together case? That would be a updated Trac lok.
2 Cross pins in slotted ramps in a bolt together case would be a Power Lok. IME MUCH better, last longer hooks up really well.
Anyways just currious.

Thanks

Bet you money to marbles that it is a bolt together housed T-Lok.
Th Plok has been discontinued, the only way to get one now is take a Dana 70HD Plok with ABS ring notch and machine out the ring gear bolt holes. Basically what Dana was doing before.

You good at installing gears dd? Or should I take it to Santa Clara Truck?
I think I'm gonna buy the carrier set ($100) and get it installed...no hurry.

Id love to but truth be known I pay a friend of mine in Sacramento to setup my R&P's I have a time with patterns, I setup the pre-load in Posi's and do the R&D on conversions and then call him to set it up and get a clean pattern. He is a Chrystler Tech.
If you want me to call him i can, Depending on Santa Clara Trucks price might be able to save you a couple hundred.
Sorry I can't be of more help though.

Doing it that way you are only dealing with the carrier preload and shimming, the pinion deapth is not disturbed. Best to have a pair of those fake bearings to get the initial setup, saves a couple bearings, I hate to throw away new bearings distroyed pressing them off.

You are right you arent changing R&P just carrier. They make a bearing puller that works well and prevents damage to the bearings when setting it up
