fri i stopped at a gas station and parked on the street. i am so positive i put it in park. anyway i went in station come right back out and my truck is driving down the road in reverse. i just started as i came out of station so i know no one was messin with it. anyway thank god a tree stopped it but now i need a passenger dually fender. any idea what may have caused this. the truck is a 2000 with an auto. trans. it sat there nearly 5 minutes without doing it. why would it just all of a sudden go for a drive. any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

 

There is a bushing on shift linkage bellcrank that came out of position on mine. It could cause jumping out of park under load of a hill.
See your insurance adjuster.
We all forget what a parking brake is really for.
