hello all iam new to all of this i bought a 2001 dodge cummins about a year ago was thinking of putting a performance chip in it i sometimes pull a 45' gooseneck with farm tractor but mostly just around town empty thought it would maybe help on mpg it is a 6 spd 5.9 just don know what would be the best with out having to spend a arm and a leg thanks for the help

Food for thought: Once you add horsepower and torque to your engine, the weak links in the drivetrain will begin to show. #1: Torque Converter - you may develop chatter. #2: U jounts may go if they are worn. #3: Pinion Gear/bearing may begin to whine.
I have had a chip for 5 years and have found it to be the best addition to the truck. A new exhaust to enable it to breath a little better may be a good addtion as well.
