That's why my gasser buddies say they don't want to turn up a diesel.
$159 for one piston with rings?
It's $159 for 8 pistons, and rings w/bearings for a SBC. (atleast close)

Well, just anotehr part that's gone is the radiator. Had a very good look at it today and pressure tested it with 15 psi... pinhead leaks and lots of corrosion. Previous owner had it coated some way to make it look nice so hte corrosion wasn't apparent.
How much would the radiator be in the states?
Thanks!
Markus

A Modine from NAPA runs about $550.00. I bought one from Proformance Radiator for about half that. Seems like the freight on that part from here would kill you.

That would be www.napaonline.com
They do list a parts catalog, so maybe that will help.
Good luck,
Ed

Markus sorry to hear the bad luck, did the piston fail to fuel heat or friction heat, it did mention somewhere that the ring stuck I assume a fluke or were you seeing some high temps before the melt down, I am pushing the limit as far as egt's and was simply wondering if it was driver inflicted or just plain old bad luck.
