P 0336?

Hello guys. Ok I ordered my LP and fuel gauge coming. This was my first chance to bring my truck to my buddies shop( great mechanic and he knows some about diesels), he ran a scan and it came up 0336. He made slight mention that this could also be creating my sometimes erratic starting?? We are going to get the sensor and put one in anyway. Just wondering if anyone has ever had a starting issue with this code? I saw mention in a search that I did that someone said this code could have an effect on starting. Thanks again to anyone that responds!

Most definately.

If the ECM doesn't see that signal, the truck won't run.

It must be intermittent now, otherwise it would never start.

You need a new sensor.

Hmmmm......seems to be a lot of code P0336 here lately......

Mine was just replaced and there's a couple of more threads about it going on now.

In my case, no problem starting, but was setting the code. The truck ran OK, but there was a loss of power and the engine sounded a little different.

phox_mulder, appreciate the info. I am replacing it today or tommorow. The bad part for me is that I bought a truck and I have no previous info on maintenence. The good part is my best friend is one of the best mechanics in town. He works on both powerstroke and Cummins. We put it on the lift and he said the truck was in good shape. We also discovered someone had stacks in there at one time! I have access to scan whenever I need to and get a lot of free handme downs from all the high perf. jobs he does on these things. He has a very slightly used 4" to 6" exhaust for me etc...Thanks for the help.
