oil guage sending unit

This post is for a friend. He has a 98 QC Sort bed with the 24 valve motor.

His oil pressure guage quit working yestarday and he wants to replace it himself if some one can help us find it?!
Thanks in advance for any info

The problem is most likely the oil pressure sensor. These are known to go bad on our trucks. The part number is in the first link and the location of the sensor on the engine is in the second link. Hope these links help.

I changed mine myself after I paid Dodge $183 for it and had it shipped to the house. Cummins said it was a Dodge part and that I had to but it from Dodge. Guess what, it came to the house in a Cummins box with a Cummins part number on it.

Took all of about seven minutes to change it, a 24 inch ratchet extension and a deep well socket did the trick.
