Hey Guys, I've got a question about a noise that I'm getting from my turbo. I get this really loud scream from the turbo from 1300RPM through 1600RPM. It's nowhere near the normal turbo "whine", it's so loud that it's almost enough to hurt my ears. It does it in all gears and is a constant sound between those RPM's. My boost and EGT's don't change from what they normally are while this is happening and I havent noticed any thing else out of the ordinary. Any thoughts or suggestions on what to check or how bad of a problem this may be? Thanks.

 

I'm going to guess a little pinhole sized leak in either one of the turbo boots or the intercooler.

Block off one end of the system with a plug of some kind, pressurize the other with shop air regulated around 20psi, spray soapy water on the intercooler and watch for bubbles.

Boots can be hand inspected, but hole might be hard to find if it is that small.
