Not another lift pump problem?!?
First off it an 02, 2500, 4x4, 6speed, 64K, 3.54's, bone stock, no gauges. Truck has ran awsome since I bought it 10K ago.
Today towing about 5K, I was in 6th, doing about 60mph. Big rig doing about 55mph, so I ease her into the fast lane and press the accelerator pedal tward the floor. No responce, like the pedal wasnt even hooked up, but I held it there for about 3-5 seconds and suddenly the truck just took off, like it would have under normal conditions. I cant duplicate the problem, its very random and only happens in lower RPM ranges ( 1200-1600). If I'm shifting and getting up to speed it runs fine. It seems to happen under a constant throttle (like cruising) and then I press the pedal with no responce. It just started doing this today.
I had the oil changed about a K ago but the place was out of fuel filters so I didnt change that. I dont know when it was changed last. I think my air filter is kinda dirty too. Could these be the culprit? i am sorta paranoid about the lift pump but cant really afford gauges right now

I searched for the apps reset and all I could find was 30 pages of people saying " try the reset". How do I reset it? and what does apps stand for? I hope its nothing too serious. Should I try the code check trick, just for kicks?

its probably the apps if it acted up save your money and get a new one,i pay around 317 for them, the rest is ussually a temporary fix, check the fuel preasure regardless and check it every oil change if you dont have a gauge on the truck, borrow a gauge from a friend to check it,you need to keep checking that, you definitely dont want to pay for a injection pump like jgh said, that 1500 was with no labor,he he, good luck with your venture
