Re:Not another lift pump failure!

UPDATE:

Changed out the lift pump last night. I have the exact same pressure with this one as I did on the old pump. 13-13.5 at idle, 12 cruise and 9-10 wot. But at least it's not fluctuating like before. I hope my injection pump is Ok.

One of the signs of an injection pump going out is harder and harder to start...if that starts to happen, you might want to stick close to home for a bit...

I see you have PIAAs and Hellas...which do you like best?

Re:Not another lift pump failure!

The temp has warmed up a little the past few days here. Truck starts fine when it's warmer. It's when it's cold out that it's hard to start. We'll see when it gets down in the 30's.

Ramflasher: I've got the PIAA fog lights (amber). Haven't had much fog here yet so I don't know how well they work yet. The Hella driving lights are excellent. I took a trip to the mountains. It's like night and day compared to the stock headlights. I can really see the deer on the side of the road much sooner with these lights. I've also heard good things about the PIAA driving lights. I've mounted the PIAA fog lights in the same place of the stock driving lights and the Hella driving lights just below the front bumper. I cut out notches in the black plastic vallance just big enough for the lights. Looks really good.

Re:Not another lift pump failure!

Just a thought:

This is the second lift pump I've installed with the exact same pressure reading from both. The hose going from my filter housing to the fuel pressure isolator isn't the typical hose size I see on other trucks on this site. I had mine made at a hydrolic shop. The hose is very large. Could this make a difference in pressure readings compared to a smaller hose?

Re:Not another lift pump failure!

It will be the same pressure as a smaller diamter hose.

When you are running liquid thru the hose that's when hose diameter will have a direct impact on pressure. The smaller the hose the higher the pressure in order to flow the same amount that a larger diameter could flow.

FYI

I'm running 11psi at 70mph your pressure doesn't sound bad.
