normal idle speed

My 02 2500 quad 4x4 idles at 875 or so and while going down a steep slippery hill the other day in hi 4 I nearly lost control.
I have been told by the dumbest guys on earth(Dodge service
department) that I cannot lower the idle speed. Anybody agree?

Re:normal idle speed

On the new ones the idle speed is set by the computer. You can put in lo and it will idle up anything. I dont think there is anyway to adjust the computer to where it will lower the idle

Re:normal idle speed

You don't want to reduce idle speed too much or you may run into oil pressure problems.

JMHO

Re:normal idle speed

I bet using 4 low would cure that problem. Must have been steep.
