No power at Data Link 02 dodge
#3
Usually if there is no communication/power at the data link, try checking the cigarette lighter fuse. They should be on the same circuit & if the fuse is blown, the data link port won't work.
Usually the fuse is blown, if someone uses the cigarette lighter port for a cellphone charger or such.

My 02 was like that. Everything check good, like the cigar lighter.
I got down in there and had a bright light. I could see two pins were enlarged!!!!
Gently bent them into place and it has worked every since.
It had been to the dealler once and they would not let me see a printout of codes ( cruise stopped working). I bet a tech shoved a test pin for his multi meter into it and did this damage.
This was before 4,000 miles and I have 166,000 on it now.

no power to data link
Not 100% sure but took truck to Dodge dealer and they could read and smog it. Seems that some trucks have to be flashed or updated by Dodge. I am going back and see if my guy's scanner will work now. I will post back as soon as I know? Thanks for the help!
