Unhappy new vp44, lots of white smoke

i changed my vp44 yesterday. the engine fired up and runs, it revs throughout the powerband. no more cutting out at 1500 rpm's, but today it has a small studder at idle and even sometimes upon acceleration. and at idle i am noticing alot of white smoke. it's like a cloud around the rear of the truck. i am not sure if i got some bad fuel at the gas station that made my pump go bad and now it is still in the truck. it took me like 30 min. to pump the fuel. was almost like the tank was out. and that was the last badge of fuel i got. i am going to drain that fuel and put new fuel in it. does anyone know what else could be going on. i am getting frustrated, this truck has had no problems up wil now and i've been without it for a week. need help please.

If it took 30 min to bleed the system, you may have an air leak somewhere. Changing the fuel is ok and will eliminate that possibility. check for wet spots on the lines and tank, try filling the tank to eliminate the cracked pick up syndrome.

You might have gotten a bad VP. Slim possibility but you never know.

Mine stumbled and put out white smoke when the lift pump went bad. Check your fuel pressure and I bet you will be buying a lift pump.

Did you keep a sample of the fuel by chance??? If you did get contaminated fuel at that station I'd be going back there to have a chat with them about it.
