New user, no boost!

I picked up a boost gauge and pillar mount after work today. I'll try and get it installed tommorow if it doesn't rain. What's the best way to tap into the intake? Drill and tap the intake horn or tap into an existing plug as mentioned here?

Don't tap into the intake just use the 3/4" plug, it's very easy, I did it today and it took me 15 minutes, I had to use more than 1 reducer to go from 3/4" to 1/8" but it did work out fine.
I ordered the a pillar pod with DPP, in the meantime the gauge sits on top of dash loose.

Got the boost gauge installed. It tops out at 20psi, certainly not the 2-3 psi the scanner was showing. I'm going to hook it up to the scanner again and compare scanner readings with actual boost just to make sure we weren't reading something wrong. I also want to see if there are any diagnostic tests for the MAP within the scanner but so far all indication are that the MAP is bad. If the rain here slacks off long enough I'll also pull the MAP and see if cleaning it does anything.

You might take notice to your exhuast... smoke black, white, grey, blue??? Heavy or not???
That will give some more clues...

Hooked it up to the scanner again, it only reads 4.6-4.7 in of Hg when the guage reads 20 psi of boost, that equates to 2-3 psi. I pulled the MAP sensor to check and it didn't need cleaning. I checked the lead going into the MAP with a voltmeter and it shows a reference voltage of ~5 volts which seems normal for a typical sensor. The MAP has to be bad, I guess just not bad enough to throw a code. I'm going to pick up a new MAP sensor tommorow, surely that is the problem.

I replaced the MAP sensor earlier and so far no change in power or feel driving unloaded around town. I was affraid that would be the case. I'm going to hook it to the scanner again tommorow to see if it's reading any differently, i'm affraid it's not though. Any new ideas?
