Yesterday I bought a 2001 3500 dually 24v 6 spd. At the same time something told me to purchase the extended warranty also.. So I got in the truck and proceded to drive home which is aboout 255 miles from the dealer. I got onto hwy 14 in Wi. Fuel gauge read 1/4 tank.... The truck started to miss then soon died, left me on the side of the road... I called AAA and they had me towed back to the dealer where they put the retro. kit on it (now the lift pump is in-tank) They also replaced the sending unit so my gauge reads how its supposed to... And tested the injection pump.. that checked ok.. The truck now runs twice as strong as it did before the pump went out... Now bring on the power mods!!

Fuel pressure guage first along with the boost, and pyro. The sad thing is the lack of fuel suppling the vp44 may of shortened its life.

what he said plus with the new intank pumps ive heard they hold very low fuel press themselves so a pressure page on the fuel would be my 1st mod
