I just had the dealership install a new injector pump on my 98.5 truck. When I took it in thats all it needed. First they replaced the fuel filter and cleaned batteries, $290.78. Then they replaced injector pump, $2,790. Problem still existed but brought more trouble, the engine has a dead miss at an idle. Took it back they tested the lift pump and replaced the wastegate actuator,$450.00. The truck runs good but misses like crazy at an idle. So the $3,530.78 question is what is wrong with my truck.

I have had a miss for a long time now. Have changed just about everything I can think of. But just a thought about your truck. Have you pulled or changed injectors lately? I had a compression ring on the bottom of an injector that was bad. After starting the truck and letting it warm up. I would get a bad miss. Pulled the injectors and changed the little washer/compression rings. That cured part of my problem.
