New lift pump, for cheaper??

Got a 99 that has no fuel pressure, lift pump is junk.

Now this is for a buddy and $'s are a little tight.

Now I have found that the Carter replacement for this pump is #P27413 and is around $160.00. Does any one have any sceps on this pump, flow amount and PSI, thread type?

I am considering getting him a Carter #P4601HP that is rated for 100 GPH and 15 PSI. Biggest problem is that is has 3/8" NPT fitting so the banjo bolts wont go directly into it. But the pump is only $85.00, I run them on one of my gas trucks.

So can you run 15 PSI to the VP44 with out a problem?

And does anyone know of fitting to make it hook up?

Tried one and it was toast in less than 5k! The fittings can be swapped out with a little head scartching to barbed fittings if you are stuck on that pump.
15 psi is no prob for the vp44. The new one from cummins starts out @ 16psi+.

If the pump was toast in 5K I wonder how it is different then the factory pump. Or the $200 kit that Diesel Dynamics sell, they use a Carter Pump also, don't know which one though.

What do you guys recomend for a good pump?
