Question new batteries

Well guys, the time has come to replace my batteries. The p.o. replaced them obviously before me, but now its my turn. She's got 142k miles on her. I'm wondering if I should go ahead and replace the cables now too. I'm having that annoying torque converter lock/unlock problem everyone's having. Wondering if this will help. I also did the fix from the tdr book which cuts the tps sensor ground wire at the the clip and grounded it on the core support. Didn't seem to help. Anyway, any suggestions on batteries and if I oughta replace the cables?
Thanks,
Kerry

Zone had some $171 out the door for both. 8 yr warranty 3 or 4 yr not prorated. Plenty of stores to trade them out if needed.

New batteries are a good thing to help solve TC lock/unlock.I even have the DTT filter and it still locked/unlocked on x-way.The solution for mine was to run a seperate ground from passenger battery to PCM while keeping the stock ground wire. Also used stainless sheet metal screw to replace the rusty PCM grounding screw. For good measure I also cleaned grounds and added a second ground wire to core support from drivers battery.

Here's the PCM ,and the grounding point is the screw where the white, green and body to PCM ground cable go.The green goes to the negitive.
