need help
first time asking questions like this but here goes
working on 2 diff. 99 3500 cummins trucks with problems
The first the guy told me the truck needed a lift pump and he already had the pump, so i put the pump on and it didnt fix the power problem that would come and go when you were into the throttle. So after that i hooked my scanner up and got p codes 1689 and 216 and from what i have already read from other threads the inj. pump is about to go.
Next the other 99 on cold start ups smokes very bad and misses a little until the temp gauge and the same on my scanner reads about 165 degrees then it clears up. had the nozzles rebuilt (shop told me that some were plugged up and none popped off at the right pressure). put it all back together and still the same problem. When you fire the truck up it will run you out of the shop with fuel. The truck runs like a striped *** ape when it warms up but there is some blow by that after driven for maybe an hour does leave a spot of oil on the ground when parked. It has 2 codes logged one is for oil pressure low (gauge works interm.) And the other is a p0230 transfer pump out of range. Was hoping some one could help?
